Yeah, I'd be curious as to how many CSSBers turn on their depth alarm. I pay attention to our depth display no matter where I am and it gets fooled pretty often by temperature layers, mermaids, and fish pretty often. At least, I've seen these anomalies in areas that I know for sure are deep (not the mermaids). so the actual causes for shallow readings are only guesses.

Consequently, we never use the depth alarm. It would drive us bonkers.
