My Prindle beach cat takes more time to get underway than jumping onto the Orion. From hooking up the trailer, to raising and rigging the mast and getting the boat into the water and rigging the sails... usually over an hour of time. And afterward I have to undo it all.
I can be underway and off the dock in the Orion in less than 15 minutes... and that is being lazy about it.
Of course there ARE slip fees... Which don't make a whole lot of sense unless you are using the boat. (I just don't understand folks that have boats in a slip and NEVER take them out...)
My slip fees end up costing less than what a monthly membership and a couple single day small boat rentals would cost... and I can sleep on my boat any time I want... which I could not do with a rental boat.
Of course with a power cruiser, I'd have to buy gas on a regular basis... and still tow the darn thing down there and launch it.
Nah... I like having a boat in a slip.
