You've summed up a sad time(for me) to contemplate about sailboats and aging.
" I used to work on the boats every winter, drawing so much power through the cord for heat and lights it would be warm to the touch and melt down through the snow. I can't seem to get that enthusiasm going again.
I would like to walk away but it has been such a part of my life for so many years, I actually think I would miss the social interaction and day-to-day operations at the club than sailing itself?"
This melancholy can also be felt when kids become adults and things like , houses, camps, vacation houses, and boats hold so much attachment to that past. The clock ticks and decisions have to be made.
