It happens. I'm 70 and a boat became just too much work. There was also the 'been there, done that' thing going on. 12 years and 25,000 miles was enough. How many times do I want to watch my wife throw up in the galley sink at 3AM knowing it was time for her watch (or vise-versa). It came to the point were no longer interested in beating ourselves up.
Land travel is a logical progression. Many X cruisers go to RV's after the body gives out and it all becomes to much work. I think I'd like to camp & hotel it for a couple of years.
