I would think that Gecko helmet would do the trick.

I got knocked in the head once and would have been very happy at the time to have had on on my head. My boats boom is so high above my head now that I couldn't jump up to hit it so it's a non-issue for me now but if I was still racing I would try one. I just don't see the need for me now or while cruising, even in bad weather.
