A mid priced (not $240/ high end, but alos not $40) helmet itself is similar in cost. if you want the built in radio option you won't have it.

I'd also point out that the marine model visors are aimed at not haveing the wave or rain from above wash behind the visor. The hockey or other sports objective is to keep fingers or objects from your eyes.
