Ran up hard on a log in the dark years ago coming back from Neah Bay. I posted the story here at the time.

We went up onto it and got stuck and just like you the boat starting rotating on top of it.

We were well and truly stuck on top of it. I tried to push it away with the boat hook but it wasn't moving.

So I did what you did after the same consternation. I started the engine and backed off the log.

Other than a scratch in the paint there was no sign of damage from the collision. But then my boat is over an inch thick in that area.
