I like the matching corian fiddles glued on idea. Or, brass and/or bronze screw heads look.....

....good with the dark varnished teak. Varnish right over them, no worries. In this particular case I always think an exposed slot head flat head screw looks better than a phillips headed screw. In either case, or in the case of oval headed screws, I wouldn't use beauty (trim) rings as that makes too much of a visual object. Just countersink properly to be flush with the wood surface, not below nor above.
