I have thought about the exposed screws, in fact made up a template to see what I thought. There would be a lot of them +/-30, I think it would be busy, there is quite a bit of teak down below, and it's all bunged. I also thought about gluing the Fiddles and bracing them on until the adhesive cured. When I took them off, I removed the bungs and fasteners, and was shocked to find the silicon they applied 30 years ago was bomber. There was no movement in the Fiddles whatsoever once I removed the fasteners … like the fasteners were doing nothing at all ! It probably took me a half-hour or so per Fiddle to get them off with putty knives, small flat bars, etc. without damaging them … the Silicon was tenacious and strong ! I'm actually leaning towards back priming everything, installing, bunging, masking everything all off and just hunker down and get the coats on in place, hopefully won't be that much more work.
