Our forward (main) cabin berth is a bit jumpy in a seaway. I can't imagine putting the galley and the principal head even with the mast.

The galley seems very odd up there.

They ended-up with the main cockpit floor being very high (with the freeboard going along with it) so they could i) Get the dingy in; and, ii) provide headroom in the two aft cabins.

It would seem that they were trying to cram too many things into that length, to me.
