Interesting concept that sailing fast limits your options . . .

. . . but sailing a boat like that up to an anchor might take some rather large cojones (and a good deal of practice).
I mean . . . considering a singlehander I met decades ago in the Eastern Caribbean, sailing an engineless Nicholson 32, towed a drogue whenever he was entering or leaving an anchorage. It had a trip line so he could open or close the "bucket" as needed to slow down or speed up.
I imagine a drogue on a Gunboat might operate in the same way a parachute "brake" does on a fighter jet on landing.
