A friend of mine delivered one from Tahiti to Hawaii a year or so ago and said it was a physical mess upon arriving. The wx wasn't very extreme but the boat just could not take it. It was I believe twisting and that mast had loosened up from the pounding.

Not for me. Cats IMHO are best left in the Marina, on day sails or with carefully watched wx in the Caribbean.
