I was down at our club Friday, winter haul out was scheduled to start this past Saturday. By Friday morning they already had nine of our bigger boats out of the water and shrink wrapped, several more Saturday and Sunday. Everyone I talked to has pretty much given up on the season. There were a few days that were nice but the majority of the summer was rain with a series of cold fronts coming through spinning up some major winds out of the East. This past weekend was no different, it was 87*, 0mph winds and humid Friday, Saturday was rain all day and night, Sunday was 63*, partly cloudy, 15-25knts out of the East with small craft advisories. We are still unsure of the main and would like some calmer conditions to try and sort things out so we stayed at the dock.
Looks like the mast is coming down this weekend, hauling the boat is now in the hands of Hostar Marine in Wareham, Mass. They are building our jack stands, and should have them to us in a week or so(I hope).
This is going to be interesting, the PO had a custom cover and frame built, never had one of those before. No shrink wrapping for the first time in a long time........."assuming" I can actually get the cover and frame. The PO had the cover people cover the boat in the fall, uncover it in the spring and then store the cover and frame over the summer. They have promised to bring it to us for the last four weeks, nothing yet.
