I got to pick up my winter cover and frame this weekend at the brokers. 5 weeks of trying to get it from the canvas people but at least I have it now (PO had an outstanding balance on his account). I was laying out my plans to the broker for next weekend of pulling the sails and getting the mast ready to drop. Passing comment from the broker, "that will be the first time". What? He said the mast was put on when the boat was delivered in the spring of 2008 and has been up ever since. The PO "was not a hands on guy" so the rig has never been tuned, the mainsail and headsail furlers have never received any maintenance. I hope the turnbuckles will break loose, the PO had them wrapped pretty tight with rigging tape which is all gone now. I'm thinking a shot of PB Blaster is in order.
