We're trailerable so we do it ourselves. Nasty ugly day with rain and a good breeze that would have made dropping the mast touch and go. Was very relieved to get up this morning and see the cone had shifted east a bit and the chances of even 50 knot winds here very small. We settled for getting soaked as we doubled lines, added spring lines, removed things and tied the rest down. We're not as agile as we used to be and hauling it and lowering the mast in the rain and wind was beginning to look like an accident waiting to happen. Glad we didn't have to risk it. We'll keep watching the storm as there are still some options if the track shifts again and we need to take them. It looks like by dipping so far south there's a chance Joaquin will have lost quite a bit of strength by the time it reaches our latitudes. Hope that's good news for New England. My heart goes out to everyone in the central Bahamas though and everyone affected when it finally does turn around.
