That is a separate document I keep that no one gets to see while in progress. Very odd you might be thinking, actually the front of the maintenance log has dates and descriptions of what was done including launch and haul dates with weather conditions. I like looking back at those, my own notes usually make me laugh. I usually track engine hours at the end of the season, fuel added, what filters were changed and so forth.
The middle of the book is the real secret, I keep notes on everything I purchased for the boat including costs. Once I made the mistake of adding this stuff up then dividing by the number of times we were away from the dock.......only once did I make that mistake.
The back of the book are notes to myself, mostly for winterizing supplies, dimensions of things at the boat for reference in my workshop, model names, numbers etc.
