A testament to the "I didn't have time to write a short letter, so I wrote a long one" approaches.

I remember ages ago being graded on the least number of lines of program (in the form of key punch cards) to perform a little program. We were writing the programs in (now ancient) Fortran IV. ;^)))

It really is such a wild waste and inefficiency to have a simple note taking program which is over 10 times the whole capacity of early PC's!

Why can't programmers right really "little" elegant programs?
