I have been wondering, but do not have the expertise to figure out; with full keel boats do you think there is a correlation between the length of the boat and the handling (turning) characteristics? I was thinking that perhaps our 27' of actual hull, 8Klb. displacement and the IP keel design was not an engineering match made in heaven? There are many larger full keep boats that do not seem to have the same issues.

I understand a full keel will never have the snappy turning performance of a fin, but your description of the Allied seems to beg the question is there an advantage to having additional boat length/weight and perhaps momentum to bring the bow around?
