This is a pic of the bottom at the prop when the boat was hauled in San Diego in the recent very warm September... The diver was supposedly cleaning the bottom on a regular monthly basis... I suspect he skipped a month at about the time the boat was hauled.

The growth on the prop and around the aperture sure explains the "sluggishness" I felt when motoring to the yard. Sailing really wasn't affected that much... but when motoring I just didn't have the power I expected... yet the engine sounded and ran fine.

I'd guess it was the "thick prop" that was the cause of the power issue.
