My dad died early, age 63. He was looking forward to retirement but didn't make it.
I had things I wanted to do, so took early retirement at age 58. Financially, a dumb thing to do. But I don't regret it - got to do some fun stuff.
I've now outlived my dad by 10 years. I'm still doing fun stuff and enjoying life. I think the key is to do things while you're capable of doing them - I know Jon did that!
