A dog might be good for getting me out more but maybe not as high energy as a Jack Russel. Maybe a more easy going breed like a Border Collie

I was at a horse show several years ago and they put on a dog competition. There were several events but one of them was this field with four pulleys, one near each corner. A rope with a plastic bag was lead around the pulleys and one of the pulleys was powered by an electric motor so the bag would wiz around near the border of the field. One dog after another went out and tried to catch the bag, racing along after it. Then a Jack Russel was sent out into the field. It just rand across the field, met the bag on the far side and ripped it to shreds. I'm not sure I want a dog that is as smart as I am and can move way quicker than I can.
