You didn't mention your Hunters performance, but if Saildata is correct, it must be a little under powered. The SA/D is just over 12 I think.
My last boat had a SA/D of just over 14. Our current boat has a SA/D of close to 18. The boats - except for length - are very similar. The difference in their sailing performance - specifically ability to sail in more wind conditions - is dramatic. They are both long-ish full keels with attached rudders. I'm not including the extra weatherly-ness of our current boat due to it's centerboard, just all around sailing ability. We didn't sail the SA/D-14 nearly as many miles vs engine miles as we do with SA/D 17.7
Your Hunter has a very appealing layout in the size. I don't know if it can be opened, but this Hunter 31 vid below, review by Herb McCormick at Cruising World, is amazing!
The space in this boat with the extremely wide tail - and a raised cockpit - is simply unbelievable coming from a traditional type of sailboat. And it looks like it sails pretty well in the conditions during the filming.
