You're right about it being easier with the VE program. The test was right around the corner from my house and with no morse code to to get proficient in its a relatively easy experience. There were 10 people taking the test which is more then I thought would be there. I also have the added advantage of Universal Radio being 5 minutes from my house so I have access to checking out equipment.
