I've been asked to charter it, and considered it. But I'd rather rent something else out.

Like a house or apartment. That's easier - more lucrative, and less likely to turn into a disaster.

But I know plenty of people that do ok chartering out their boat. I think if you do it seriously, to make money or offset most or all of the cost, it can work out better. But then you should consider the boat a business venture, not 'your boat'.

And I also see some people that turn their passion - sailing, into a business or job, and regret it.

Les, those must be some heavy feet on your decks!
