Just run the line through the D ring.

You can remove the D-rings and add Goîot blocks IN the cringle ...

That's the way mine works. Just install
I use a rams horn
Have your sailmaker add a velcro closed....
You can get hooks that go where that awful steel bolt is.... (nm)
Ha.. That's just the next thing I was thinking.
