Most of my literature says I can only use a thru-hull for a ground if it is bonded ...why so? None of my bronze thru-hulls are bonded and I prefer them that way. ...or Gordon west says I can use ONE unbonded thru-hull but it may be inadequate.
My lightning protection (if there is such a thing) is a dynaplate with a cable to a shroud chainplate.
My second question would be, why can't I run an additional copper foil to the bronze shaft-log thru-hull - it does not electrically contact the shaft and my prop shaft is electrically isolated from the transmission/engine in any case ...and protected by a zinc. At this point the shaft log would be just another thru-hull, would it not?
...and final question:
Have I started drinking to early?
