in these inland waterways and canals at Spanish Wells, they are actually located on Russell Island right next to and just west of Spanish Wells. Very protected, many of the commercial fishing guys from the Island had big boats in there. Spanish Wells is sort of an anomaly for the Bahamas ... very industrious, energetic, mostly white, prosperous & busy. Weird, but nice folks. I bet you could find something in there and someone to look after the boat as well. You could start your search at Pinders, Little Woody or Spanish Wells Marine, all in Spanish Wells. I would be very comfortable leaving my boat there, if you can get in w/draft ? I would not however be comfortable leaving my boat on the transient moorings at the east end of town.
Getting to and from Abaco, Exumas and lee side of Eleuthera is fairly straightforward and generally not a concern for most weather, most of your travel to these places (except Abaco) will be over the Banks.
Flights are accessed by the ferry to the mainland Eleuthera, and the North Eluethera Airport a short taxi ride from there, about 10 minutes. There is also the high speed ferry from Nassau as an option.
