If you are smart about it and planned on

keeping the boat, you make the repairs the first time in such a way that the next time is easy. Simple things like putting in a 2 position terminal board so replacing the wire to a pump is easy, cutting a hole and building an access hatch in the floor or enlarging a hole where a hose passes makes life so much easier the nest time. I've cut 6 access hatches, re-manufactured several systems, enlarged holes for plumbing and electrical, added a bunch of terminal board, added threaded inserts into bulkheads were screws need to be removed often, added deck hardware using barrel bolts and backing plates sunk into the deck and epoxied in place and the list goes on. The next time you make a repair, think about how easy it would be if only.... and then make it that way. The deal is that I'm keeping this boat. Period. I'm on my third round of pumps and hoses and the little bit of work done in the past is really paying off.
