and have them restitch. Probably would be $100-200 vs. a boat canvas place would be at least twice that. Different market, different prices.

For normal polyester thread the stitching will need to be redone every 5 years or so, even here at 40-degrees north. If you want to have it last you need to use Gore-Tex thread.

Gore-Tex thread is very expensive and difficult to sew, so more labor too. When I had my mulltihull nets restitched that's what I used. (I don't want anyone falling through into the water). It was about $150 for the spool of thread alone.
