In Response To: How long should canvas work last on a Dodger & Bimini ... ()
always demand that they use the "Gortex thread". They don't like to use it because it cost them more and it last so much longer. I aslo think it might be a bit harder to sew with but if you insist they will use it. It cost you more because they pass the cost on but it will last as long as the Sunbrella. IMHO

- The Sunbrella on ours lasted about 10 yrs.
- We are on year 9 with our bimini. (Restitched twice)
- I'd contact Thurston -- From your description, I don't think that the thread should fail.
- I had a dodger that lasted 30 months, including two seven month storage for winter then ALL the stitching failed

- Our first dodger lasted 20 years...
- Sunbrella is not the weak link.
- My dodger, wheelcover and sailcover have lasted 15 yrs
- it is the thread that is the problem
