Ron, I went with the "California Micro System".
In Response To: WiFi Antennas? ()

They have what they call the "Micro 295 which is a 200mW USB 2.0 wireless adaptor with a detachable antenna. You remove the antenna and connect a 8.5dBi high-gain outdoor omni antenna via a 20 foot long low loss cable. The other end of the adaptor connects to your computer via a USB port. You download a CD that has the user manual and drivers and away you go. I installed the antenna on my wind generator pole with a standard 1 inch rail mount. The omni directional antenna is threaded for the standard rail mount. I bought the package from West Marine in San Diego and all and all, I'm pretty happy with it. I believe they have more powerful adaptors on the market now. My adaptor is made by a company called "EnGenius". They have a website and you may be able to buy directly from them. The up side to having one is that you can get Internet most of the time. The down side is that once you can get it sometimes, you want it all the time and get pissed off when you can't get it.
