I have been looking at that...
In Response To: The last time this came up ()

There are several USB via cat5 extenders available. One that I have been looking at recently is made by Manhattan products. I never heard of them. Some USB extenders do not carry power to the extended device and, therefore are useless for any Wifi adapter. The Manhattan one can deliver half an amp - more than enough for the Engenius EUB-262. The Manhattan extender in available at Microcenter.

One thing about these extenders is that they are not as fast as advertised USB Wifi speeds and I don't know if that would be a problem or just a bottleneck. Any ideas/comments would be appreciated.

I already have the EUB-262 and an Engenius outdoor antenna (not much money). I was thinking of putting an extender, the EUB-262 and the antenna directly under my radar dome, about 24 feet off the water and connecting it with a 50 foot cat5 cable. 200mw at that height should give good service.

That will have to wait a while. Right now I have reasonably good Wifi in the marina here in Whangarei and I have other, more pressing boat projects to do.
