the higher the frequency, the more lossy the cable appears. WiFi is much higher in frequency (and intentionally low in power) than VHF or the HF you mentioned. Cable loss appears in all those cases, but for the the much higher frequency WiFi signal, those losses are the greatest.
The VHF suffers quite a bit too, but you also gain on the VHF due to the height of the mast.
The USB you mentioned is not RF, but high speed digital... the properties for high speed digital start to appear RF as the speed of the signal is faster and faster, but often shielding and a good matched cable (differential pair) can overcome the length of the cable... to a point.
