Same here, hang my Owls one on each side 
In Response To: That's what I am doing for anchor lights. ()
I hang them from the shrouds about 6 feet off deck level, low enough so drunks in dinghies can see us and the white decks are visible. 
The twin lights make it so one is always visible even if the other is blocked by the mast or sail, and also make it easy to pick out our boat in a busy anchorage like BI, when returning in the dark.
