Asymmetric spinnaker - ATM sleeve or roller furler?

I'm about to order an asymmetric spinnaker for my Nordic 40. I've been offered a very slightly used Bamar Roll-Gen furler which happens to fit my boat at about 1/2 price. An ATM sleeve came with the symmetric spinnaker on my boat, but I've never used the ATM. I'm torn which way to go, and have virtually no experience with either method.

It seems that the advantages of the RollGen include: 1. easier and safer to furl, better control especially in heavier winds

Advantages of the ATM: 1. less cost, 2. less moving parts, 3. cleaner layout since control lines are not needed, 4. can buy an ATM tacker and eliminate the need to modify the stemhead for attaching the sail

My primary purposes will be for cruising in Maine, and more extensive offshore cruising in a few years. I'd appreciate any opinions. I was set on getting the furler but am having second thoughts. The simplicity of the ATM is attractive. The safety of the Rollgen is attractive.

Thanks,
Max
