No experience with the Rollgen, but I love the ATN...

Hi Max,

I'm still having a bit of difficulty picturing exactly how the Rollgen works... As Steve mentions, it seems like it would be a bitch to stow, and I'm not sure how it could be flown from a pole...

IMHO, the ATN is probably a bit more versatile... You can reef your chute with it, you know, works surprisingly well in my experience - although it looks dumber than hell (grin)

Not sure why you feel the Rollgen is safer, I've never felt there was too much risk in using the snuffer... most important thing in my book is to run the downhaul through a ratcheting snatch block clipped to the rail, so there is no risk of getting lifted off the deck if the chute should suddenly fill while tending that line...

Etienne is one of my favorite people in the sailing industry, great guy, a real sailor himself, and his stuff just flat out WORKS... Plus, he stands behind his products, a few years ago when an older version of The Tacker began to suffer UV degradation, he replaced them with his updated, more UV-stable material free of charge...

best regards,

Jon
