Fair enough, but I'm not talking about major boat work

That phase is done. We need to remove the rudder, since it's been a long-term issue that hasn't been dealt with. Everything else can be done once the boat is back in the water, but as long as it's out of the water, might as well do some other stuff as well (fabricate bracket for tiller pilot attachment, etc.)

The boat is operational; that is, we went up to Alaska and back for five months last year, but it clearly needs a couple of key things done. I think one year out of the water will be sufficient...having spent way too much time rebuilding/refitting the boat, I don't want to go there again...only when it comes time to repower, if it ever comes to that I know what you mean about the psychological aspect of it being powerful...too many projects, the boat lays un-operational either in the water (worst of all, which happened to us), or in a yard, life intervenes, etc.

Other stuff left to do before any planned trip south is (1) install tiller pilot; (2) install solar panels; (3) convert hank-on genoa to furler...bunch of stuff that can be done with the boat in the water.

I sure sound optimistic, don't I My wife Leah and I have been talking about missing being on the water, so at least we want the boat to be out of the water for as short a time as possible...we'll see.

Back when the boat was REALLY operational:
