You can get most of the things you want without all the integration. Then if you have a failure it's not a critical failure. People buy XM for their RM product. Comes w/ any ham and pactor. Separate speed and depth. Why do you really need speed thru the water when you have speed over ground! The ground is what hurts! (OK if you're a racer maybe). Every boat cruising I know carrys a computer or two. Nav programs on the computer seem to do much better with a 50 buck hockeye puck GPS!

I only own one piece of Raymarine equipment; and had Autohelm still been around I wouldn't have bought theirs.

ps Years ago I had excellent luck with Lowrance; they would fix the unit free or for a flat rate when it broke and it the depth sounder (digital to 600') lasted for 15 years on the boat! That in my mind is quality!
