I have a Bruce, CQR, Danforth and an aluminum

Force on board. When it comes time to set a stern anchor I use the 45 pound CQR. I drop off the bow roller on the starboard side so it just hangs below the surface. I pass a line through the shackle and tie a quick release knot so I can just pull it and the anchor will fall away. After I have the anchor secured to the dinghy I dump the chain (about 50 feet) into the dinghy and back the dinghy to the spot I want it to set in. As I am backing towards the spot, my wife is letting more line out. When she gets enough out, she attaches a snatch block with a 6 foot line on it to the anchor line and walks it to the stern. I pull the trip line slip knot and the anchor falls away. She cleats the snatch block the the stern cleat and walks back up to pull in the excess stern anchor line and sets the anchor. If I decide to drop the "stern anchor" from the boat I just pull into where ever I want to set it and drop it. My wife walks the anchor line back using the snatch block as I spin the boat around. We pull forward and drop the Bruce and all the chain and we are home safe.
