I CURSE Nova Development and NV Chart Kits

I've spent all morning getting the damn chart kit working on the Mac. First since I've updated to Lepoard I needed to update Parallels! What a PITA. Nothing goes smoothly when working with anything PC! Nothing. Parallels didn't really like the update ( I bought Parallels 4 one week before 5 came out) and we were preparing to leave the US so I'm stuck with it. Down here in the Saints int the WI's what am I going to do. Getting the Internet security on it didn't work, contacting their support team didn't work. What a major PITA! " #$^$#^$#%#$%^" in the language of Sarge and Bettle Baily.

So finally I got it working a bit; enough to put the new charts for the Windward Islands on there and get their damn access code. Now, I'm in the islands and they want to get an access code via internet and it must be on a PC. Obviously they've never heard of another platform. I wish they car the bought and drove only took Shell gas or some such fecal material! Anyway, I got the charts installed, then got the access code and then the charts were downloaded ot the PC on Parallels. Guess what, it appears with Parallels 4 I can't drag and drop anymore. Maybe yes, maybe no. So I spend an hour looking through their manual writen by an ex IRS tax code employee and don't discover any (easy) way to drag and drop the files from the Virtual PC to the Mac desktop.

Finally, I come up with the idea of using the flash drive. That finally worked. What a PITA having to put another drive in the computer simply to move a file from one folder to another. I HATE PC's. And there are only two time's I've have to use them, one to run Airmail (can't believe that is still the only app that runs a pactor modem) and the other is for these stupid chart kits.

I dislike it so much I'm considering becoming a pirate. They say that locks don't stop crooks, they only stop honest people. Chart Kit has a way to encourage honest people to become pirates!

Enough of my rant.

Fair Winds,

I'm done on PC's today.
