I bet you didn't have a refridgerator , solar panels, wind vane, synthetic sails, dacron lines, autopilot, sextant or even an RDF. Opps, going old school on you there. Yeah, we spent time years ago without some of the new conveniences too! We did have a sextant, wind vane, RDF and paper charts though.

Just cause I walked 10 miles to school through snow up to my chinney chin chin doesn't mean I want to any more! Hell, just cause you may have done the carib in an open boat even doesn't mean anyone / everyone now wants too!

The computer charts back up my paper charts or visa versa.

It's ashame to me when things we pay $$$ doesn't work like advertised, when upgrades aren't really an upgrade but a required move to a new model that may or may not work right. One reason I stay away from Raymarine IMHO.
