When I was having trouble with Parallels I was ready to set up Boot Camp. If you have the software for Windows you just download bootcamp and set it up.

That should solve all your problems because you will essentially be working with a PC instead of a Mac.

PITA yes but your current problems will be a thing of the past once you set it up.
