I have found VMWare to be much more reliable and stable than Parallels.

() I have both, finally gave up on Parallels. They have the Release Of the Day, which is supposed to fix the Problem Of Yesterday. At VMWare they seem to actually test this stuff before they release it, and it works. Have had no trouble running anything, including some rather complex and graphic intensive CAD/CAM software.
That said, I use MacENC for charting, and don't know why you would run anything else on a Mac.
