There is a lot to be said for a small and nimble power boat as we age. Our horizons aren't limited, we just don't always take a boat to get there.
This has been a rather disappointing 12 months, though, which started when I drove our PDQ into a concrete abutment (yes, there were extenuating circumstances, but still, really mashed one pontoon). It just didn't get better for a long time.
But boat fixed, body patched together (nothing to do with the accident, everything to do with genetics and getting older) and now we're ready to start moving again. I just have to remind ourselves that we need to get out of Florida before May - it is HOT and we all worry about electrical storms and tornados. But at 12 to 14 knots we can pick good weather and zip outside the ICW and get pretty far in just a few days.
How are you doing?
