I have a Profurl N42 (I believe). One of the extrusion tubes bent about 3/4 the way up the rig. I bought the part. I'd like to replace the bent one.

Can this be done by taking the stay off and replacing it temporarily with the halyard? Then replacing the tube with the stay attached at the top but off at the bottom. I really don't want to pay the marina for this and doing it this way I can climb the mast to get at the bent piece.
