I had a problem once
In Response To: Good looking gizmo. ()

We were anchored off a river entrance in Venezuela. ( 'Ensa Cata' beautiful place),,, anyway,,, It was daybreak, we were heading East and our anchor was stuck. After trying everything I know to unsnag it with no results I decided the only thing to do was put the scuba gear on and go down to to take care of the problem.

Here I am a little after sunrise near a river entrance with about 6 inches visibility. We had the chain pretty snug and I started down the chain head first. About 15 feet down ( 30 feet total depth ) a big plant brushed my mask, went along my body and freaked me out. I became paranoid and stopped moving to give me some time to get over the strange feeling I now had.

Since I couldn't see anything I decided to turn around to go feet first and just to make myself feel better I closed my eyes. Went the rest of the way down feet first with eyes closed. At 30 feet I hit the bottom, groveled toward the anchor and freed it. I then put a trip line on it and rose to the surface all the while with my eyes closed. The Admiral had no problem winching the anchor back up. Problem solved...

It was just so weird having my eyes closed with stuff brushing against my body. Now If I had my eyes open and a couple of big eyes came up to my face I'd probably have had a heart attack.
