Could be the cover, and could be 'insignia cloth'
In Response To: Could be just the UV cover... ()

A lot of 'insignia cloth' is used to make sun covers for sails. Insignia cloth is an adhesive backed (but still needs to be sewn down) light weight dacron taffeta used to make logos, sail numbers and sail sun covers. WHITE dacron is the most vulnerable to UV damage. (White) Insignia cloth only lasts ~5-8 years before needing to be replaced ... but adhesive backed insignia is very easy to work with and typically you can 'recover' with insignia twice to be materials $equivalent to an OEM sunbrella UV cover. Insignia is preferred by those who want to lessen the 'weight aloft'.
