They make a 9000 BTU one that's smaller and might fit better.

Anyone use a portable propane heater below?
Portable propane
i'll second that...
I'll third that
Problem with propane is supplying it.
Did the Dickinson diesel burn clean? Any issues with soot etc?
Use Dickenson diesel heater on TAPPAN ZEE
We have used the Dickerson Chesapeake on Brendon
They burn clean AFAIK
Talked about it many times here. 'Mr. Heater' nothing else. IMHO
Clarification. Only if you're looking for occasional use.
not so good
we love our too.
I put in a Dickinson propane heater a few years ago...
Here is a pic of the heater...
That looks just like mine!

I had one of those on a 28'er. It was marginal for output @ 9,000btus.
The smaller Dickinson has the same stack shown in the pic above...
You're right. It was the Force 10 with a 1" stack.
I added the upper part of the bulkhead for my install
Not only do you need the bulkhead space, it's nice if you can mount the heater low.
The Dickinson heaters have built in fan that blows air down out of the heater..
Hi Max ... this one was well recommended on this Board when I did ...
Hey Max, can you fit one of these?
That little girl is welcome to sail with me anytime anywhere
from the look of the pic, she won't come without the stove.
Cute stove... but I wonder....
A guy I knew used those 3 hour logs
They reccomend hardwood, that's what I use.
That'd look great in my bedroom at home.
Home made stove in photo but I used it a LOT...and loved it.
Someone did a nice job building that Westie.
I think for a new built-in system Diesel or LP is the way to go
Ever try to get on a bus with 2 propane tanks?
This begs the question.
We don't,, but, we haven't always been here.
I do too. The thing I dislike is these systems are inefficient and require so much energy.
The hydronic systems are very amp-intensive
Yeah, but the flicker of the flame in a fireplace type heater is a lot more pleasant...
Yes there's also a big difference in price
But the hydronic system also supplies domestic hot water.
I like the flicker of a flame.
"Distributing heat evenly" throughout a boat, sounds tricky to me.
I believe that there is a case to be made for
