Someplaces have a higher percentage of biodiesel in some over the road applications. California, as I recall has a pretty agressive biodiesel program -- I think that is applicable only for on-the-road vehicles. I'm not sure whether that tends to promote growth in tanks to a greater extent that conventional fuels. I would make sure that you used a treatment like BioBore and others.
In the winter, in cold climes, they used to adjust the mix for "vehicle" diesel (it made it easier to start). Generally, it's probably fine unless you're in Alaska or Toronto :^)
The big problem is a truck cycles its tanks much more often than you normally would. Also, you get more gum-up at lower RPM's and loads (typical sailors don't push the RPM's up to design working levels).
