Sure, a lot of spray can make it past them, but they can still serve to keep the cockpit and gear a lot drier…
When you really notice their effect, is in colder weather… When I’m heading south in late fall or early winter, even just blocking the breeze a bit can make a huge difference…
Nice pic, as always… And, your mention of a front piece to fill the gap between the trunk cabin and lifelines is something I forgot to mention, and Dave might consider. That will prevent a LOT of spray from working it’s way into the cockpit. I’ve actually made a pair of panels from light plywood that get placed in there, and they are amazingly effective, really nice to have…
